Camp Hall Earns Palmetto Sites Designation
Program is designed to increase inventory of marketable sites and competitiveness in South Carolina
MONCKS CORNER, S.C. – Santee Cooper’s Camp Hall Commerce Park in Berkeley County has earned the Palmetto Sites designation by the South Carolina Department of Commerce. The designation signifies the property has undergone a comprehensive analysis to demonstrate its marketability to prospective industry partners.
Located at 114 Three Point Dr. in Ridgeville, the 6,800-acre property is the nation’s next generation commerce park with an idyllic location, robust infrastructure, and environmental focus, and with a focus on creating entirely new ways for the workforce to build, grow and thrive.
“The Palmetto Sites designation, which included an extensive vetting process led by the South Carolina Department of Commerce and the Site Selection Group, demonstrates Camp Hall’s readiness to meet the needs of industry and the workforce. And, with the help of our economic development partners, including Berkeley County, Berkeley Electric Cooperative and Edisto Electric Cooperative, Camp Hall is ready for business,” said Mark Bonsall, Santee Cooper’s President and CEO.
Anchored by Volvo Car USA, Camp Hall broke into the Top 10 in Business Facilities Magazine’s 16th annual Rankings Report and was named the No. 7 best industrial park in the nation. Camp Hall was also the only park in the Southeast to make the list.
The Palmetto Sites program offers prospective industry partners access to an inventory of industrial sites that have undergone a detailed analysis, including extensive property and utility information. Designed to streamline the process of industrial site development in South Carolina, the Palmetto Sites program leverages the extensive, corporate experience of a third-party partner, Site Selection Group, to provide a strategic development plan that prioritizes site development and marketing efforts for communities.
With the goal of increasing competitiveness, sites are evaluated on ownership and control, site characteristics, utility and transportation infrastructure, and due diligence reports – ensuring critical details have been collected, reviewed and are readily available to a prospective industry partner. The program then layers this technical site analysis with robust workforce and target industry data, helping communities understand the property and community’s value proposition to potential users.
