Efficient transportation for advanced worldwide connectivity
Effective August 21, 2019, the Surface Transportation Board authorized Palmetto Railways to construct and operate a 28-mile line connecting to Camp Hall.
The line, which would extend from Camp Hall to the A-Line of CSX, near Santee Cooper’s Cross Generating Station, will provide transportation of supplies and products for Volvo Cars and other potential shippers in the area as well as preparing for future development and support for infrastructure needs at the commerce park.
The construction of a new rail line will positively impact infrastructure needs in Berkeley County and South Carolina generally as it will help alleviate highway congestion and create an efficient transportation method for ongoing business operations at the Camp Hall property.
Camp Hall is committed to providing high-quality utility infrastructure to support the needs of world-class employers. The Palmetto Rail is just one way the commerce park provides dynamic worldwide access to industry.
