Local Amenities Makes Camp Hall An Ideal Place to Work

For those who reside in the neighborhoods and communities surrounding Camp Hall, all of the elements needed to maintain a strong quality of life are within easy reach. And with plenty of nearby residential choices — including established neighborhoods and new developments in local communities such as Ridgeville, Sangaree, Summerville, Whitesville and Windwood — there’s no shortage of options for workers looking to put down roots.

Consider these highlights from among the many livability-enhancing features found in the areas surrounding the Camp Hall campus:

Nexton community’s retail and residences

The new commercial village at nearby Nexton Square offers 20-plus restaurants, boutiques, salons and services — and many more offerings are on the way. The dining options already in place here range from Mexican and Chinese to burgers and steaks, with a range of additional regional and international flavors on the way. Shopping opportunities at Nexton Square run the gamut from fashion to furniture and artworks, while the services on tap here include banking, fitness, skin care, dentistry and more. Further, the Nexton community itself offers a hometown feel, with all of these retail offerings surrounded by an array of housing options. The residential offerings here include Lowcountry-style homes and spacious townhomes, with a new-build apartment complex in the works.

Amenities of nearby towns

The nearby communities of Ridgeville, Sangaree, Summerville, Whitesville and Windwood boast a range of popular stores, including local boutique shops and well-known national chains, as well as a number of highly rated healthcare facilities.

A center for sports

The newly opened Cane Bay YMCA in Summerville features nearly 55,000 square feet of indoor sports facilities, including a 25-meter swimming pool, a basketball court, a jogging track and more.

Comforts of Cane Bay

The growing community at new development Cane Bay Plantation features a collection of distinct neighborhoods filled with attractive homes that fit all types of lifestyles — from young families to empty-nesters — along with a trio of top-rated schools. Further, a new (and growing) commercial area has been established at the Cane Bay Plantation entrance, a new apartment complex is in the works, and the new Roper St. Francis Berkeley Hospital located just down the road offers a comprehensive list of healthcare services in a brand-new, high-tech facility.

Superior schools

High-performing schools in the area include Beech Hill Elementary School, Ashley Ridge High School, Rollings Middle School of the Arts, Cane Bay High School, Nexton Elementary, Sand Hill Elementary and Summerville High School — all of which score a 7 out of 10 or higher at school-ratings website greatschools.org.

A more convenient commute

On top of all of these area conveniences, for those who live in the vicinity and work at Camp Hall, the reverse commute promises to make drive times substantially shorter. Because the bulk of traffic on area roadways will be headed toward Charleston for the morning commute while most Camp Hall workers are headed away from the metro area — and vice versa during the evening commute — dealing with rush-hour traffic will largely become a thing of the past.
